CHADAM was not imagined. He appeared.
One afternoon on Avenue Montaigne, a fragment of wood in a book, a simple bookmark. Nothing spectacular. And yet. The wood had absorbed the world: the supple leather of the bindings, the warm wax, the silence of the libraries. It exuded an unexpected warmth. Alive.
That was the first signal.
Later, I understood that this essence bore a name from elsewhere. In Nepal, sandalwood is called Chadanam. Pronounced [chadam], it becomes breath. A substance of the highlands, slow and sacred, born in the clear air of the Himalayas.
Thus CHADAM was born: between Paris and the mountain peaks.
Between the hushed elegance of an end of the day on Avenue Montaigne and the meditative depth of Nepalese forests.
CHADAM is the founding fragrance of JACLAIN Édition de Parfums. The first creation. The one that wrote itself even before the formulation.
Woody, warm, aromatic, CHADAM cultivates a refined androgyny.
He is not trying to seduce. He is revealing.
Wearing CHADAM means accepting that you love yourself enough to be able to love the world.
